Today, I tried British candy, crisps and snacks for the very first time and recorded my reactions to each. After living in the UK for 6 months, we decided it was time that I try some of the foods which are common in the UK, but not found in America.
Of course, having lived in the country for some time, we specifically sought our candies and snacks that I had not previously eaten.
So Many British Foods to Try
Some of the foods that I try in this video include: marmite, HP brown sauce, scotch eggs, pork pies, freddo chocolate bars and bakewell tarts. Most of these were a hit, but there’s definitely one or two that caught me by surprise.
Marmite in particular was a bit of a culture shock, as it was definitely a lot stronger than anticipated. Overall, however, I would say I enjoyed what I ate – and I certainly agree with the British about Cadbury’s chocolate.

What Should We Try Next?
This was a great video to film, and certainly an enlightening experience. It’s always great to immerse yourself in different cultures (even if, for the most part, British food is not too dissimilar to what I am used to in the US). Because this video was so fun to film, we may record a part 2. If we do, what British foods would you like to see me try next? Leave your suggestions in the comments below.
We are also planning a video where Chris tries a selection of American foods that he has not come across before. If you have any ideas on what we should include in that video, eave your suggestions in the comments as well.
