During our time spent together in America this September, we had the opportunity to have photos taken professionally by a friend of Chelsea’s. We loved the idea, and immediately headed for Fairhaven (a historic district of Bellingham, WA) for our first ever Love My Brit photoshoot. We wanted to incorporate the theme of both English and American culture and felt this was an local area that captured with an artisanal feel.
Our first photos were taken at The Abbey Garden Tea Room which serves an English high tea (although still with American style scones!)
After our afternoon tea we set out to explore the streets and stumbled upon an old British telephone box. Although it was out of commission, it still made a great setting for some fun photos.
As we made our way out of the Fairhaven area, we came across the railroad, which we thought would make the perfect backdrop to a couple more photos. A train came past just before we arrived, which we tried to use in a couple of the shots, but none of these turned out. Instead, we made use of the railroad itself.
After we climbed off the tracks, we walked a little further to a rocky shoreline and explored a small cove-like beach, where we found plenty of beautiful washed up shells, and Apple (Chelsea’s miniature Dachshund) was free to roam.
We wandered back into the town as the sun was setting. After such a beautiful day, it was the perfect end to it, and we were even able to get a few more photos together with some stunning lighting!
Hope you enjoyed the photos!
