TV Opportunity for UK Fiancé Visa Applicants

TV Opportunity Fiancé Visa

Do you want to share your story and experience with the UK fiancé visa? It’s a difficult process which once complete gives you only 6 months to marry. What can make it more frustrating at times, is the lack of understanding friends and family have about your situation: the implications of the visa, the cultural differences, how it feels to completely move to a new country and even start a new life.

We were recently contacted by Candance Davies of Nine Lives Media, an independent TV production company based in the UK. The company are in the early stages of putting together a TV show that will feature UK fiancé visa applicants.

After talking briefly on the phone, we agreed to post details of the opportunity on here, to see if any of our readers would be interested. From what we’ve heard so far, it sounds like a fantastic chance to have your story heard and broadcast.

Personally, we believe this would be best suited to those who have very recently obtained their visa (and are about to move to the UK), or those who are still waiting to hear back. But please feel free to contact Candace if you are in the process of preparing to apply soon also.

This is open (from what we understand) to any couples where one partner is British and one partner is a non-British citizen.

It’s important to note that this opportunity is for fiancé visa applicants only – not marriage visitor, spouse or unmarried partner visa applicants. If you are unsure which visa you have applied for: the fiancé visa is valid for 6 months, during which time you must give notice and marry. The cost of the fiancé visa is £1,195. The marriage visitor visa has similar terms but costs only £87.

Are you hoping to come to the UK on a fiancé visa – or do you have plans to marry a British citizen and move here, or are you British and trying to get your overseas boyfriend or girlfriend into the UK on a fiancé visa?

If so Nine Lives Media would like to speak to you about a project we are working on for one of the major UK broadcasters. We are an award winning TV company – you can find out more about us at

The documentary aims to follow different couples starting their lives together in the UK, and explore what it is like to have to organise a marriage within the time frame allowed by a fiancé visa regulations.

At this stage all conversations will be in confidence. If you’re interested or would like some more information please contact Candace Davies.
