Welcome to the community page of Love My Brit! Over the last two years we’ve posted on a variety of topics ranging from long distance relationship advice, to our visa journey and expat life. Over that time we’ve met some fantastic couples with interesting and unique stories to share.

To help share stories, we’ve decided to create a dedicated community area on the Love My Brit blog. This is an opportunity for you to share what’s on your mind, talk about topics important to you while reading blogs from others in the community too.

How Does It Work?

We thought a lot about how we want this community space to work. We want to make sure we can offer something that gives you a platform to write on, but isn’t laden with regulation and unfair rules. It’s also important that the community is positive, polite and encouraging.

With this in mind, this is how the Love My Brit Community will work. At the bottom of this page is a submission form. To submit a blog post, all you have to do is fill out this form with your name, contact details, a short biography and the content you wish to submit. You can submit a maximum of one original post per week. It’s important that any submitted blogs are original pieces and not copied from another site. You can submit articles regularly, or just as a one-off, it’s really up to you.

Once you have submitted your post, we’ll be notified by email. We will review it to make sure it meets our submission criteria (listed below) and will post it under the ‘Love My Brit Community’ account. Your blog will appear on the homepage to Love My Brit for a limited time, as well as have a permanent space in the Community Posts category. As soon as it is live, you’ll receive a notification by email. We’ll also promote each blog post on our Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest accounts.

Community Submission Guidelines

To make this work, and be fair, it’s important that all submitted articles follow our submission guidelines. If your submission does not meet these criteria, it will not be posted – however you will be notified by email.

  • All fields of the submission form must be filled out
  • Blogs must be a minimum of 500 words (no maximum)
  • Content must be original, and not copied from another site
  • All blogs must be proofread and correct at the time of submission
  • Submissions must not be overly self promotional
  • Material should not be offensive to community members
  • The topic must fit into one of the categories listed below

We’re fairly open to the type of blog you wish to submit, so if you have a suggestion that doesn’t quite fit in to any of the topics listed here, please let us know. Currently, we are accepting blog posts on the following topics:

  • All aspects of long distance relationships
  • Expat/ international life
  • Personal visa stories and experiences
  • Relationship stories, advice & tips

Please do not submit any of the following:

  • Visa advice & guides
  • Promotional material or reviews

As much as we would love to be able to include additional, community submitted visa advice – there are so many frequent and substantial changes that posts would become outdated quickly. We strive to make sure that our advice is as up to date as possible, but would unfortunately not be able to do the same for community posts.

Who Can Submit?

The short answer is anyone! Whether you have a great idea for a blog but don’t have anywhere to post it, or if you have your own blog to promote, all are welcome. All that we ask is that if you are promoting another blog, that you do so in your biography (links are fine) and not the content itself.

Love My Brit receives approximately 17,000 visitors per month. We can’t guarantee your blog will be read by everyone, but it’s certainly a good opportunity for extra exposure.

If you don’t want to submit an article, but want to get involved in the community – that’s absolutely fine. Feel free to ask questions in the comments, start conversations and get to know each author a little better. It’s our hope that we’ll be able to grow the Love My Brit community and give something back to all of our readers who we’ve enjoyed writing for over the past few years.
